Description
The Charter Township of Orion is requesting proposals for the design, procurement, delivery, and installation of native understory trees, shrubs, and herbaceous perennial plugs or pots in approximately nine existing garden beds totaling about 6,365 square feet at Friendship Park. The contractor must coordinate the planting design with Township staff, obtain approval before procurement and installation, prioritize wild-type native species, coordinate utility locating, protect existing historic structures and park improvements, remove installation debris, and provide a project schedule, plant availability information, and establishment or post-installation care recommendations. The base bid includes planting design and complete installation. Separate pricing is requested for approximately three inches of shredded hardwood mulch, optional additional site preparation, and other recommended additions. Trees and shrubs must be warranted for at least one growing season after final acceptance. The proposal must include a cover letter, project management and quality-control narrative, comparable client and past-performance information with at least three references, work samples, communication methods, a project schedule, and a comprehensive cost proposal using the supplied bid sheet and qualification materials.
