Description
Louisville Metro Government, through KentuckianaWorks and the SummerWorks program, is soliciting qualified nonprofit organizations and public agencies to serve as host-site employers for youth and young adults during Summer 2027. Selected organizations will provide meaningful six-week work experiences from June 14 through July 23, 2027, for youth primarily ages 16–19. Host sites must request at least two participants, provide 20–30 hours per week at $15.00 per hour, assign structured projects, provide daily supervision and mentorship, complete performance evaluations, approve timesheets, and maintain a safe, inclusive, and equitable workplace. SummerWorks will subsidize and administer wages through a designated payroll agent, with anticipated funding of $600,000–$800,000 for gross payroll and awards subject to funding availability. Proposals must address organizational experience and capacity, internship roles and career-skill outcomes, supervision and mentorship, and strategies for serving underserved youth and priority neighborhoods. Required submission materials include the Good Faith Effort documentation, Vendor Information, W-9, Acknowledgements and Preferences, Ban the Box Compliance, Internship Quality/Career Skill Building/Pathway Alignment, Supervision and Mentorship Plan, Equity/Diversity/Underserved Zip Codes, Organizational Capacity and History, and an IT Risk Assessment Questionnaire or SOC Type 2 Audit Report. Proposals are limited to 20 pages and must follow the stated formatting requirements.
