Description
Louisville-Jefferson County Metro Government is soliciting bulk Sodium Chloride Type 1, Grade 1 rock salt for its Snow and Ice Program. The salt must meet the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s 2012 road and bridge specifications, specified gradation requirements, a maximum moisture content of 2%, and treatment with an anti-caking agent. Nonconforming material may be rejected and removed at the vendor’s expense. The vendor must provide bulk truck delivery on an FOB-destination basis to Metro storage facilities under delivery orders, including a minimum delivery of 22 tons per order and delivery during normal business hours unless weather conditions require otherwise. Metro estimates annual usage at 13,300 tons, guarantees purchase of at least 10,000 tons, and may purchase up to 20,000 tons at the awarded price. The agreement may be renewed annually for up to five years total. Bidders must submit pricing and required forms through the Bonfire portal and participate in the live reverse auction.
