Description
The State of Iowa is seeking a contractor to provide statewide and greater Des Moines-area courier services for letters, reports, packages, supplies, totes, bags, confidential documents, legal filings, medical and biohazard materials, sensitive equipment, and packages weighing up to 120 pounds. The scope includes scheduled daily routes, on-call and emergency pickup and delivery, secure handling, chain-of-custody documentation, proof of delivery, real-time tracking, delivery manifests, and service reporting. The contractor must provide its own registered, insured, enclosed and lockable vehicles; storage facilities; specialized equipment; backup vehicles and personnel; trained and screened drivers; a staffed dispatch center; an online service and tracking platform; dedicated account and emergency contacts; security, confidentiality, business-continuity, and quality-control programs; and all required licenses, permits, insurance, and regulatory compliance. The initial contract term is November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2027, with up to five annual extensions.
