The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to make a single award for medical waste disposal services at USMCFP Springfield. The contractor must collect, remove, transport, and dispose of infectious medical waste, primarily dialysis waste, dressing-change waste, and sharps, in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and patient-material disposal standards. Pickups are required every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, excluding federal holidays, with estimated quantities of approximately eight full tubs on Mondays and Wednesdays and 16–20 full tubs on Fridays. The estimated annual volume is 85,000 pounds, billed by actual waste weight. The contractor must furnish red reusable plastic tubs with lids, liners, tape, and sanitized replacement tubs as needed. Electronic manifests are preferred, and invoices must document pickup dates, pickup counts, total waste weight, and contract pricing. The contract has a 12-month base period beginning at award, with a six-month option.
