Description
The City of Springfield is seeking a qualified firm or individual to provide custom, year-round professional weather forecasting services for Springfield, Missouri. Services must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year, with forecasts prepared by professional meteorologists using multiple regional real-time Doppler radar sites rather than model data alone. The contractor must provide forecasts at least five days in advance, routine updates twice daily, severe-weather updates, post-winter-storm reports, unlimited consultation for Public Works personnel, and 24/7 on-call meteorologist support including off-hours wake-up calls. Forecasts must address temperature, storm timing and duration, precipitation type and amount, intensity, wind, pavement temperatures, and other relevant conditions. Email and mobile-device delivery is required, with online controls for at least 25 users and three devices per user. The contract has a one-year base term and may be renewed for four additional one-year terms.
