Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor for comprehensive regulated medical waste services at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center and seven supported Detroit-area locations. The scope includes collection, packaging, container and refrigerated-trailer provision, transportation, treatment, and final disposal of regular regulated medical waste, sharps, pathological waste, antineoplastic/cytotoxic waste, and trace chemotherapy waste. Off-site locations primarily require on-call sharps pickup, transportation, treatment, disposal, and sharps shipping boxes; the main campus requires weekly trailer service and recurring container support. The contractor must provide trained personnel, compliant vehicles and equipment, permits, licenses, manifests, treatment and disposal records, online account access, reporting, staff training, quality control, contingency planning, and emergency response. Quotes must include separate administrative, technical, price/cost, and past-performance volumes, with specified file naming and email-submission requirements. The anticipated structure is a 12-month base period followed by four 12-month option periods.
