Description
The City of Providence Department of Housing & Human Services seeks an organization or collective to implement the Recovery in the Parks model from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027, with two one-year extension options. The program is intended to expand low-barrier, peer-led recovery supports in multiple Providence parks through recreational, nature-based, arts, wellness, skill-building, social, and cultural activities. The contractor will engage people with lived experience, recruit and support Peer Leaders, conduct outreach and retention activities, coordinate with community partners, and follow applicable park rules and participant-safety procedures. The contractor must provide implementation planning, participant engagement, event programming, recovery-capital assessments, quarterly progress reports, a final evaluation report, a sustainability plan, and presentation materials. The proposal must include a narrative addressing goals, work plan, anticipated reach, evaluation, trauma-informed and culturally competent practices, organizational experience, a timeline, resumes, applicable letters of commitment, a budget, a budget narrative, other funding sources, fiscal capacity, and a certificate of good standing. The estimated total funding is $175,000, and the City anticipates awarding one contract, subject to its stated rights to make partial, multiple, or no awards.
