Description
The City of Menlo Park is soliciting competitive proposals for approximately $4 million in Below Market Rate housing funds. Eligible projects include preservation of existing affordable housing and acquisition or new construction of permanent affordable rental or ownership housing serving extremely low-, very low-, and low-income households. Mixed-income projects are eligible, but funding may support only the affordable portion. Emergency shelters and transitional housing are not eligible. Applicants must demonstrate successful affordable housing development and management experience, including ownership of at least two qualifying deed-restricted affordable housing projects in the nine-county Bay Area for at least two years, with projects containing at least 10 units. Proposals must address project design, site control and environmental conditions, zoning, community priorities, financing and operating information, development schedules, community outreach, developer experience, personnel, management, and supporting project documentation. A completed application and cover letter are required, along with narratives, financial information, resumes, photographs, references, and other supporting materials specified in the application.
