Description
The California Department of General Services, Facilities Management Division, Direct Construction Unit, is soliciting construction equipment rental services on an as-needed basis for multiple state facilities and project locations throughout Northern and Southern California. The contractor must provide the equipment, labor, materials, tools, permits, licenses, insurance, transportation, travel, and related expenses necessary to fulfill rental requests. The equipment list includes aerial lifts, loaders, dozers, excavators, forklifts, generators, pumps, compressors, compactors, concrete and flooring equipment, trailers, debris bins, and other construction equipment. Equipment must generally be delivered to job sites within 24 hours of notification, with emergency requests fulfilled within three hours when equipment is available. The contractor must also provide maintenance, repairs, replacement equipment, delivery and pickup, and a published rate schedule for equipment not listed on the cost sheet. The solicitation will result in two contracts, one for Northern California and one for Southern California, with an anticipated 36-month term. Bidders must submit pricing for both regions, meet licensing and insurance requirements, provide at least three references for similar equipment-rental operations performed within the past five years, and satisfy a 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation requirement. Required bid materials include the checklist, certification sheet, bidder declaration, payee data record, references, Darfur and California civil-rights certifications, proof of insurance, and completed cost sheet.
