Description
The Maine Department of Transportation is soliciting seasonal rental of backhoe/loaders and wheeled loaders without operators for Region 2. Backhoe/loaders must generally be 16,000–20,000 pounds, four-wheel drive, no more than three years old and 1,600 hours at initial delivery, with specified horsepower, digging depth, buckets, safety equipment, and accessories. Wheeled loaders must generally be 23,000–28,000 pounds, four-wheel drive, articulating, no more than three years old and 1,600 hours at initial delivery, with specified bucket and fork capabilities. The contract includes monthly equipment rental, delivery and pickup transportation, scheduled preventive maintenance, on-site service and repairs, replacement equipment when required, and technical specification checklists and vehicle descriptions submitted with the bid. The backhoe/loader section is scheduled for January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029; loader rental periods vary by equipment item and extend through May 2029. Each section will be awarded separately, and the contract completion date is December 31, 2029.
