Description
The University of Akron is seeking a qualified strategic communications or media relations contractor to serve as a strategic media relations partner. The scope includes developing and implementing earned-media plans; targeting prospective students, parents, and the broader community; cultivating regional media relationships; executing statewide and national press campaigns; and supporting institutional enrollment, brand-awareness, and community-engagement objectives. The selected provider will also deliver executive positioning and thought-leadership strategy, press materials, media briefings, talking points, interview preparation, storytelling pillars, research and innovation narratives, 24/7 urgent and crisis communications support, and real-time monitoring across print, digital, broadcast, and online media. Proposals must include the provider profile, strategic approach, at least two relevant case studies with client references, key personnel biographies or resumes, and an itemized fee structure. The potential contract term is three years, and selected respondents may be invited to a one-hour virtual presentation.
