Description
This public-works project requires installation of gas-fired infrared heaters in the Sussex County DMV inspection lanes, a new natural-gas service, replacement of a domestic water heater, associated gas venting and plumbing, and related electrical work. The scope also includes demolition, roofing and flashing modifications, HVAC controls, integration with the existing Automated Logic building automation system using BACnet, testing, commissioning, training, and closeout documentation. The contractor must perform work during DMV-closed hours, attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting, submit a bid through the Bonfire Portal, provide a bid security equal to 10% of the bid amount plus additive alternates, and furnish 100% performance and payment bonds after award. The project includes prevailing-wage requirements, subcontractor listing, drug-testing compliance, insurance requirements, and a two-year general warranty; the infrared-heater specification also requires five-year parts-and-labor coverage for the complete unit and ten-year parts-and-labor coverage for the tubes.
