Description
The Mayacamas Volunteer Fire Foundation is soliciting proposals for sheep and/or goat grazing services on approximately 55 acres in the Mayacamas Cavedale Trinity Triangle Fuel Reduction Project. The contractor must provide and manage the herd, including herding or containment, temporary fencing and other control measures, water, supplemental feed if needed, and daily management. The herd must have negative testing results for Johne’s disease, and the contractor must implement measures to prevent invasive-seed transfer. Grazing must reduce hazardous fine fuels, invasive and undesirable vegetation, ladder fuels, dense understory, grass, and brush while minimizing soil disturbance, erosion, and damage to desirable vegetation and protected resources. The proposal must use the attached Bid Form and include the requested approach, equipment, staffing, qualifications, experience, references, timeline, finish-grade deliverables, declined vegetation, pricing for winter and spring grazing, and required insurance documentation. A traffic-control plan is required where work affects public roads, and the contractor must comply with wildfire-prevention, environmental, safety, and site-management requirements.
