Description
Gratiot County is soliciting bids for a five-year agricultural lease covering approximately 81.84 acres of county-owned farmland in the South Ithaca Industrial Park, of which roughly 74 acres are tillable. The lease term is scheduled to run from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2031. The lessee will be responsible for farming and caring for the land using good farming and soil-conservation practices, as well as any necessary clearing, grubbing, leveling, and tilling. Use of animal manure is prohibited, and hunting rights are reserved by the County. Bidders must submit annual rental amounts for 2027 through 2031 using the provided Lease Proposal form. The successful respondent must deposit a maintenance cash bond of $5.00 per leased acre before the lease is consummated. The proposal must be submitted electronically, and the selected lessee must provide required insurance evidence before contract execution, including general liability and motor vehicle liability coverage with limits of at least $1,000,000, plus applicable workers' compensation and professional liability coverage.
