Description
The City of Bend is seeking professional design services for the South Awbrey Butte Drainage Improvements Project. The selected consultant will reevaluate and design stormwater drainage improvements addressing localized flooding, peak discharge, pollutant loading, and water-quality impacts to the Deschutes River. The scope includes geotechnical investigations and infiltration testing, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, survey and base mapping, drainage alternatives, utility coordination, right-of-way support, public outreach, and preparation of bid-ready construction documents. The project also includes multimodal transportation improvements along Portland Avenue, an enhanced east-west crossing at Portland Avenue and College Way, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, and water-system improvements on multiple streets. Deliverables include 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% design packages in CAD and PDF, cost estimates, bidding and construction support, record drawings, and permit support. The design budget is $1,500,000, the estimated construction budget is $17,400,000, and design is to be completed by June 2027. Required submission items include a proposal, Exhibit B - Statement of Assurances and Certifications, and the Good Faith Efforts Certification; a cost proposal is optional at the initial submission stage.
