Description
The City of Eunice, New Mexico, is requesting sealed proposals from qualified attorneys or law firms to provide professional legal services on an on-call, as-needed basis. The selected firm will serve as outside legal counsel to the City, advising the Mayor, City Council, and City Manager; drafting and reviewing ordinances, resolutions, and contracts; providing legal opinions and research; representing the City in litigation and administrative proceedings; and handling employment, code enforcement, land use, and economic development matters. The contract will commence October 1, 2026, subject to City Council approval, with a one-year term and the option to renew annually for up to four additional years. Compensation will be negotiated with the selected firm. Respondents must be licensed to practice law in New Mexico, and experience in municipal law is preferred. Proposals must include qualifications, experience, billing rates, references, disclosure of conflicts of interest, and required procurement forms.
