Description
The Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency is seeking qualified attorneys or law firms to provide as-needed litigation and advisory services supporting the City of Jamestown's housing court and code enforcement operations, including enforcement of building, fire, zoning, rental, and property-maintenance codes; criminal prosecutions; unsafe-structure and nuisance-abatement actions; illegal-occupancy matters; injunctions; civil penalties; and compliance orders. The scope also includes legal advice and document drafting, fair housing and anti-discrimination matters, investigations and proceedings, and real estate services involving affordable or mixed-use housing, acquisitions, development documents, zoning, title, surveys, liens, and foreclosure actions. Proposers must be licensed and in good standing in New York, have at least five years of municipal or prosecutorial law experience, possess relevant federal and New York litigation experience, and be admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. Proposals must describe qualifications, relevant experience, similar clients, approach, references, and pricing, including at least three professional references. Professional liability insurance is required. The initial term is three years, with two possible one-year extensions.
