Description
The State of Indiana is soliciting a public works contractor to stabilize abandoned underground mine areas at the Buttermilk Road Grouting Site No. 1820 in Pike County. The work includes drilling and casing 104 injection holes, including vertical and angled holes; preparing and injecting approximately 15,921 cubic yards of fly ash, sand, cement, high-slump, and concrete grout mixtures; installing erosion-control measures; repairing affected roads and site features; and completing confirmation drilling, testing, records, and site restoration. Prime bidders must hold a current Indiana Public Works Certificate of Qualification in classification 1799.13, Mine Grouting Backfilling. The project has a 240-day construction period, requires Davis-Bacon prevailing wages and Build America Buy America compliance, includes a $100,000 remediation allowance, and establishes participation goals of 7% MBE, 5% WBE, and 3% IVOSB. A 15% minimum self-performance requirement applies, and the bid must include a 10% bid bond, required participation documentation, an employee drug-testing plan, and other specified bid forms.
