Description
The City of Monterey is soliciting a job order contract for roofing work at municipal facilities throughout the city. The scope includes roof repairs and remediation; removal, disposal, and replacement of existing roofs; roof preparation and installation of architecturally similar roofing materials; replacement of metal flashing, gutters, and downspouts; repair of deteriorated roof decking; evaluation and installation of roof vents; and associated work required for complete installations and emergency repairs. The contract provides a readily available workforce for repairs, alterations to existing facilities, emergency repairs, and certain new construction. The initial term is one year, with two additional one-year extension options, for a maximum three-year term. The engineers estimate is $1,000,000, with no minimum annual work volume guaranteed. Bidders must hold a California contractor's license, comply with prevailing-wage and public-works requirements, submit required CARB compliance certificates or exemption explanations, provide at least three similar completed-project references, and meet the local-hire requirement for Monterey Bay area residents. Emergency-response requirements and other specifications remain as stated in the solicitation.
