Description
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is soliciting sealed bids for construction upgrades at 19 existing bus stops in San Jose, VTA transit centers, Mission College, and Evergreen Valley College. The work includes removing and salvaging existing shelters and benches; installing VTA-furnished shelters and benches; furnishing and installing trash receptacles; connecting shelter lighting to existing or new electrical pull boxes; installing conduit, wiring, and pull boxes; and protecting or adjusting existing utilities and site features. Additional work includes demolition and replacement of PCC sidewalks, bus pads, curbs, gutters, asphalt pavement, detectable directional surface tile, tree wells, and related concrete and aggregate work. The contractor must also provide traffic and pedestrian control, temporary water, dust and stormwater controls, pavement markings and bicycle-lane striping, red curb painting, signage, cleanup, documentation, and coordination with VTA operations, local jurisdictions, colleges, and nearby schools. The base contract term is one year, with completion required within 365 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed.
