Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting market research for a potential firm-fixed-price construction contract to restore approximately 84 acres of aquatic and riparian habitat on a 233-acre site. The work would include approximately 108,000 cubic yards of excavation; construction of tidal channels, islands, and peninsulas; breaching an existing berm; placement or barge removal of excess material; riparian revegetation; transplanting, irrigating, and maintaining elderberry shrubs; and installation of quarry-stone riprap, erosion-control fabrics, and live willow cuttings. The project would also require installation and removal of a temporary 250-foot steel sheet-pile cofferdam for in-water work, which must occur between July 1 and October 31. The anticipated construction period is 665 calendar days from notice to proceed, with an estimated magnitude of $15 million to $20 million. Respondents must submit a single capability-statement document of no more than 10 pages, including at least three comparable projects completed within the past six years, business-size and socioeconomic information, and a surety letter demonstrating bonding capability.
