Description
Nassau Health Care Corporation is soliciting a multi-year, as-needed contract for asbestos abatement, lead abatement, and microbial remediation at Nassau University Medical Center, the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility, and off-site health centers. Work includes encapsulation, enclosure, repair, removal, disposal, cleaning, decontamination, replacement of affected building materials, and related labor, materials, equipment, permits, insurance, and safety measures. The contract also includes replacement of non-asbestos insulation, spray-on fireproofing, acoustic panels, enclosures, isolation work chambers, and a mobile HEPA-filtered control cube. The contractor must provide qualified, licensed personnel and respond to emergency service requests within four hours. Bidders must document at least five years of prime asbestos-abatement experience, five years of experience in acute-care or extended-care facilities, and an average of at least $250,000 in annual abatement construction activity during the preceding five years. A mandatory bidder's conference and walk-through is required. The contract term is three years with two additional one-year options, and estimated annual usage is approximately $1,000,000, although no minimum purchase amount is guaranteed.
