Description

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractor(s) to provide on-call landscape design, construction, irrigation, plant establishment, and maintenance services under a master task contract. Work will be authorized through task releases, task purchase orders, and monthly maintenance services, and may include site evaluations, landscape plans and renderings, planting and irrigation installation, grading and site preparation, tree and vegetation care, weed abatement, integrated pest management, water-retention basin maintenance, emergency response, and ongoing grounds maintenance. The contractor must furnish supervision, labor, materials, equipment, project management, design, and incidentals. Designs should emphasize native, succulent, drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, sustainable landscaping that supports facility safety and security. Gas-powered tools and equipment are prohibited on SMUD properties; electrical- or battery-powered equipment is required. The prime contractor must hold a current California C-27 Landscaping Contractor license and a Qualified Applicator License with trained applicator staff. Proposals must address environmental sustainability, relevant construction and maintenance experience, key personnel qualifications, technical approach, pricing, and compliance with SMUD’s contractual terms. The estimated maximum aggregate value of task work is $5.5 million, and the contract is anticipated to run from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2032.
