Description
The City of Independence, Missouri is requesting proposals from qualified insurance agencies or brokerages to provide comprehensive insurance agency and brokerage services. The selected firm will work closely with the City's staff and outside risk management consultant to procure and manage the City's insurance program, which includes a variety of coverages such as excess casualty, cyber liability, drone liability, crime, workers' compensation, property, volunteer accident, bonds, primary casualty, umbrella liability, and directors and officers liability. The broker will be responsible for marketing the City's insurance program, negotiating with carriers, binding coverage, providing administrative support such as processing certificates of insurance and paying premiums, and offering ancillary services like loss control and training. The contract is anticipated to be for one year with four optional one-year extensions. Proposals must be submitted online via Public Purchase by October 2, 2026.
