Description
The USDA Forest Service is soliciting a firm-fixed-price quotation for roof replacement and maintenance at the Mesa Falls Visitor Center on the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. The base work includes removal and disposal of the existing corrugated metal roofing, flashing, ridge vents, and related materials; inspection and repair of roof sheathing; installation of ice and water shield, new corrugated metal roofing, flashing, trim, and ridge vents; repair of wood-shake walls, louver framing, woodpecker damage, and one damaged overhang; and preparation and painting or staining of exterior log walls, wood-shingle walls, trim, doors, and windows. Contractors must provide all required materials. Optional work includes snow guards and additional round overhang-framing repairs. The solicitation requires pricing for all schedule items, a technical approach addressing work methods, sequencing, subcontracting, personnel, and equipment, and past-performance information for three similar projects completed within the last three years. The anticipated performance period is 90 calendar days, beginning within 10 calendar days after notice to proceed. A 20-percent bid guarantee and performance and payment bonds are required; the stated magnitude is $250,000 to $500,000. Davis-Bacon wages apply.
