Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the on-call, as-needed rental of one fully operated and maintained self-propelled asphalt paver. The equipment must be three model years old or newer, equivalent to a Terex (Cedarapids) CR362L, with at least a 120-horsepower motor, rubber tracks, hydraulic screed extensions, tack oil emulsion, and vibratory screed extensions expandable to 18 feet. The contractor must provide three experienced operators, along with all labor, transportation, fuel, maintenance, tools, supplies, and incidentals. Services will be requested through service requests and must be available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The contractor must respond with the required equipment and operator within 72 hours of a written request, maintain the equipment, and provide replacement equipment within 24 hours of a breakdown. Subcontracting is prohibited. The agreement is estimated to run from May 1, 2027, through April 30, 2030, subject to approval, with estimated quantities of 150 weekday shifts and 50 weekend shifts. Prevailing-wage requirements apply when the total bid exceeds $15,000, and bidders must hold the required motor carrier, industrial-relations, and contractor licensing credentials.
