Description
The City of Shelton is soliciting bids for tree trimming, pruning, and topping-out work for removal of trees of various sizes. The scope includes labor, equipment, materials, branch chipping, wood removal, site cleanup, raking grass areas, and blowing pavement areas clean. When residents request firewood, wood must be cut into two-foot lengths and stacked at the edge of the property. The contractor may be required to provide additional crew members and respond to large emergencies on an on-call basis. Bidders must provide equipment and labor rates, including aerial bucket trucks, chip box trucks, chippers, operators, helpers, climbing crews, and mini-lifts. The successful bidder must hold a valid Connecticut arborist license, and employees must have Electrical Hazard Awareness Certifications. The contract prices remain in effect for three years after award, with an option to extend for an additional three years in one-year increments. Required submission materials include a certificate of insurance, signed and notarized Non-Collusion Affidavit, experience and client references, qualifications information, licenses and certificates, Electrical Hazard Awareness Certifications, and acknowledgment of the sample agreement.
