The U.S. Navy is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase, cutting, harvesting, loading, and removal of approximately 808 marked trees from two tracts totaling approximately 79 acres at Naval Weapons Station Crane. The timber is estimated at approximately 239,700 board feet using the Doyle Log Scale, with quantities and volumes not guaranteed. The sale is structured as a firm-fixed-price lump-sum or per-unit sale, and bids must be submitted on an all-or-none basis. The purchaser must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, logging operations, hauling, cleanup, road and skid-trail repairs, environmental protections, and related safety controls. The contract term is two years from award, with seasonal harvesting restrictions from April 1 through October 1 to protect Indiana bat habitat. Bids require an SF 114 and bid security equal to 20% of the bid price; the successful purchaser must provide a 25% performance bond or acceptable irrevocable letter of credit after award. Insurance, site access credentials, safety plans, logging certifications, and other post-award requirements are also specified.
