Description
The University of Akron is soliciting proposals for an Ultramicrotome and Cryochamber. The equipment must include motorized movements with precise specimen advance control for cutting samples in specific nanometer increments. It requires a 360-degree rotation with a self-locking mechanism, proper illumination, and an integrated stereomicroscope. Additionally, the system must be equipped with a liquid nitrogen-capable cryochamber, appropriate cryo-sample holders with a micro-manipulator, and antistatic discharge capabilities. Installation is included in the scope of work. Proposals are due by 2:00 PM local time on July 1st, 2026, and must be submitted via Workday Strategic Sourcing.
