Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources for a benchtop Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectrometer, also known as an Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectrometer. This instrument is intended to enhance NIST's capabilities in providing measurements to the magnetic resonance community, enabling studies of spin species in free radical configurations, nano-particle composites, and other systems. The spectrometer should operate in the X-band frequency range (8 to 12 GHz) and meet specific sensitivity, power, homogeneity, and stability requirements. NIST is also interested in separately priced options for a liquid nitrogen variable temperature control system, an optical irradiation system, and an automated goniometer. The solicitation requires a minimum 3-year warranty, with a 5-year warranty preferred. Software for spectrometer operation and off-spectrometer data processing must be Windows 11 compatible, run locally, and support automated calibration, data processing, and quantification. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including small businesses, and will consider all small business set-aside categories.
