Description
The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA) intends to procure one (1) Card Processing Automation CPA200 instrument, including delivery and installation, from LIFE TECHNOLOGIES CORP on a sole source basis. This equipment is critical for the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System DNA Operations (AFMES-DNA OPS) to continue their mission of processing family reference blood specimen cards (FR-BSC) for DNA identification. The CPA200 is chosen for its compatibility with the existing LIMS, ease of use, programmability, reliability, and low maintenance requirements, which are essential for consistent and contamination-free processing. The CPA200 is a semi-automated biosample puncher designed for high-throughput Family Reference Sample (FRS) preparation. Key specifications include the ability to process at least two 96-well Micro Amp Optical Reaction Plates in a single run, interchangeable punch head sizes (1.2mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm, and 4.0mm), a camera-based verification system, integrated barcode readers, and compatibility with Windows 11 software. The system must integrate with the existing LIMS and support various output file formats. Maintenance and servicing must be performed exclusively by U.S. citizens.
