Description
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Animal Disease Center in Ames, Iowa, requires a new Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectrometer to replace an existing, outdated instrument. The new spectrometer will be used to analyze prion fibrils, aiding in the understanding of Chronic Wasting Disease and scrapie pathogenesis. The instrument must be capable of simultaneously measuring CD, LD, and Absorbance with various scanning modes and a wavelength range of 163-950nm. It should include a Xenon light source, integrated wavelength calibration, and a Peltier temperature control system with a range of -40°C to +130°C. The system must also come with a complete software suite compatible with current laboratory data, a computer with specified minimums, and vendor-provided on-site installation and training.
