Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a qualified small-business contractor to perform on-site water and steam quality testing supporting sterile processing and reusable medical device reprocessing at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center and VA Outpatient Surgery Center. The work is informed by AAMI ST108 and VHA Directive 1116 and includes recurring dental HPC, critical water, AER water, utility water, domestic water, and steam testing; annual calibration of 12 handheld thermometers; sample collection and laboratory analysis; deficiency retesting; and written reports with treatment recommendations. The contractor must provide qualified personnel, equipment, sampling supplies, a handheld resistivity meter, pH/hardness testing materials, calibration documentation, and related transportation and disposal. The same tester is expected to perform recurring visits except when substitutes are needed because of illness, leave, turnover, or other unavoidable absences. Testing is expected during normal facility hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with scheduling coordinated with VA personnel. The amendment confirms that the requirement is for testing services only; chemical treatment, system maintenance, and other work outside the listed testing line items would require separate discussion or authorization. The contract is structured as a one-year base period with two potential one-year option periods.
