Description
The Salem Contributory Retirement Board is seeking proposals from qualified actuaries and actuarial service providers to conduct a full actuarial valuation and review of the retirement system. The purpose is to determine if assets and contributions are sufficient to provide prescribed benefits under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 32 and Chapter 34B, Section 19. The successful proposer will also prepare bi-annual or annual funding schedules pursuant to Chapter 32 and must be experienced in preparing GASB Statements Nos. 67 and 68 Accounting Valuation Reports. The system's assets are valued at approximately $332 million as of December 31, 2025. The selected actuary will also advise the Retirement System on matters impacting the actuarial funding schedule. The RFP will be available on August 11, 2026, and proposals are due by September 18, 2026.
