Description
The City of Raleigh, through Raleigh Water, is soliciting sealed construction bids for the demolition and in-kind replacement of MCC-P4B, MCC-P5B, and MCC-P6B motor control centers and PLC-81, PLC-82, and PLC-83 cabinets at the Neuse River Resource Recovery Facility. The work includes a new prefabricated metal enclosure with lighting and HVAC, an extension of the existing concrete foundation, replacement of power and control wiring, replacement of corroded conduit, new terminal blocks, and related electrical and controls integration, testing, and commissioning. The project has an engineer's opinion of probable construction cost of $3.5 million to $4.5 million. The contractor must complete the work substantially within 633 calendar days and achieve final completion within 661 calendar days after contract times commence. Notice to Proceed is not expected before February 1, 2027. A 5% bid security is required, and the bidder must possess an active and appropriate North Carolina contractor license. The addendum also permits up to 70% of the contract price to be subcontracted, requires NEMA 12 new MCCs, and clarifies operational constraints for taking aeration basins offline.
