Description
The County of Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety is soliciting bids for a single fixed-price Lahaina Fire Station roof replacement project. Work includes full removal and replacement of existing roof assemblies; new low-slope thermoplastic membrane roofing with tapered insulation, cover board, flashings, drainage, and accessories; asphalt shingle roofing; sheet-metal flashing; roof-deck, concrete, and CMU repairs; painting; and temporary weather protection. The scope also includes removal, storage, protection, and reinstallation or replacement of photovoltaic panels, solar hot-water equipment, and rooftop HVAC equipment; related duct, piping, plumbing, and drainage work; and an engineered roof-mounted fall-protection system as an alternate. The fire station must remain continuously operational, with uninterrupted emergency access and temporary cooling during HVAC outages. The project must be completed within 365 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must submit a completed and signed Proposal, bid breakdown, subcontractor listing, bid security, and applicable apprenticeship-preference form through the Public Purchase website. A bid bond or other permitted bid security equal to at least 5% of the bid is required. The project manual identifies trace asbestos in roofing penetration sealant and textured wall coating, requiring qualified abatement procedures if those materials are disturbed.
