Description
The County of Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety is soliciting bids for the Kihei Fire Station Roof Replacement project. The work includes selective demolition and replacement of low-slope and steep-slope roofing systems; tapered insulation, cover boards, SBS modified-bitumen roofing, asphalt shingles, flashings, gutters, downspouts, roof accessories, and fall-protection infrastructure; structural roof-framing, fascia, eave, CMU, and roof-sheathing repairs; and replacement of solar hot-water panels and piping. The contractor must also reroute the generator exhaust through a new roof penetration, remove and infill jalousie windows, perform required asbestos abatement and clearance testing, maintain the fire station's continuous operation and emergency access, provide temporary protection and cooling as needed, and comply with applicable licensing, prevailing-wage, safety, environmental, and code requirements. The base contract has a 365-calendar-day performance period from issuance of the Notice to Proceed, with separately priced alternates for fall protection, gutters at additional roof areas, and roof-framing sistering.
