Description
The County of Maui Department of Public Works is soliciting bids for reconstruction of concrete pavement roads on Mahola Street and Kumulani Drive in the Makawao and Wailuku districts. The scope includes removal and reconstruction of concrete and asphalt pavement; excavation and aggregate base work; hot-mix asphalt; concrete driveways, sidewalks, valley gutters, and pavement; drain inlet upgrades; survey monument adjustments; irrigation and tree systems; planting and landscape maintenance; pavement markings; traffic-control guide signs; traffic control; archaeological monitoring; erosion and dust control; and mobilization. The proposal must be completed, signed, and uploaded with the bid submission, together with bid security. The project has a completion time of 60 working days from the Notice to Proceed. Performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract price are required at contract execution, and a bid bond or other permitted bid security of at least 5% of the bid is required for proposals of $25,000 or more. The solicitation also requires applicable contractor licensing, subcontractor or joint-contractor listings, and a signed safety and health certification for bids exceeding $100,000.
