Description
The County of Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety is soliciting bids for improvements to provide additional parking at Kahului Fire Station. The work includes site protection and best management practices; demolition and disposal of existing concrete curbing, vegetation, and irrigation components; excavation, grading, subgrade compaction, reinforcing steel, and installation of a six-inch reinforced concrete slab; concrete testing, joints, curing, and restoration. The project also includes relocating an existing two-inch irrigation main, restoring landscaping and grassing, and installing approximately five-foot-tall white PVC vinyl fencing. Bidders must inspect the site, provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, testing, and disposal, and comply with applicable licensing, prevailing-wage, environmental, and safety requirements. The work must be completed within 180 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The bid package requires a completed and signed proposal, bid breakdown, subcontractor listing, and bid security; a bid bond is acceptable and must equal at least five percent of the bid amount.
