Description
The County of Maui is soliciting bids for construction of the Kaiola Place Sewer Extension, County Job No. WW22-08, in Kihei. The work includes installing approximately 8-inch PVC gravity sewerlines, eight sewer manholes, and eleven 6-inch sewer laterals; connecting residential lots to the wastewater collection system; bypass pumping and flow control; CCTV inspection; traffic control; excavation, shoring, dewatering as needed; and restoration of pavement, utilities, landscaping, and other improvements. The existing wastewater system must remain operational, and the contractor must coordinate archaeological monitoring, public notifications, permits, safety controls, and a site-specific spill prevention and control plan. The proposal must be completed, signed, and uploaded with the bid submission, together with a bid bond equal to at least 5% of the total bid. The solicitation documents identify a 365-calendar-day completion period beginning after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The bid package includes the proposal, bidding schedule, bid bond, bidder experience and qualifications certification, proposed subcontractors form, and any applicable apprenticeship preference certification. Performance and payment bonds, insurance evidence, and certain compliance documents are required after award or before contract execution rather than with the bid.
