Description
Western Connecticut State University is soliciting bids for the complete replacement of the Pinney Residence Hall roof on its Westside Campus. The approximately 33,248-square-foot project includes removal and disposal of the existing ballast, EPDM membrane, flashings, insulation, roof drains, obsolete equipment, and related components, followed by installation of a fully adhered 0.090-inch EPDM roofing system with tapered polyisocyanurate insulation, high-density cover board, vapor barrier, walkway pads, flashings, scuppers, downspouts, roof drains, and related accessories. The work also includes concrete roof deck repairs and wood-blocking replacement on allowance and unit-price bases, temporary mechanical and electrical disconnects and reconnections, lightning-protection removal and reinstallation with recertification, exterior painting of exposed nonstructural steel and plumbing vents, logistics planning, required testing, and compliance with Connecticut prevailing-wage, state nondiscrimination, and SBE/MBE spending-allocation requirements. The solicitation is reserved for vendors holding a current Connecticut Department of Administrative Services SBE/MBE set-aside certificate.
