Description
The U.S. Air Force is seeking one new, complete, operational trailer-mounted vacuum excavator for use by a communications cable maintenance section. The equipment must support non-destructive excavation to locate and expose delicate buried fiber-optic cables and remove standing water and organic sludge from manholes. Requirements include a gross vehicle weight rating of no more than 14,000 pounds; two water tanks with at least 150 gallons each; maximum dimensions of 266 inches long, 97 inches wide, and 90 inches high; an engine of at least 38 horsepower; a hose-support arm, boom, or equivalent; towing and operating components; hoses, fittings, tooling, pumps, controls, and accessories.
