Description
The USDA Agricultural Research Service requires DNA extraction from 1,344 pre-adult or adult Lepeophtheirus salmonis sea lice preserved in ethanol, with samples submitted in increments of 96. The contractor must perform SNP genotyping using the AXIOM LSAL200K 96-ARRAY in 96-well format on a GeneTitan instrument or equal, supplying the genotyping array or chip. The contractor must provide all necessary services, supplies, equipment, and facilities, maintain an integrated laboratory information management system for sample tracking, and implement quality-control procedures. Required performance benchmarks include SNP call rates of at least 97% for passing samples, a minimum sample pass rate of 95%, and return of raw/original genotyping data within 60 days of tissue delivery. Deliverables include genotyping data for all samples and raw files in CEL and PLINK formats, transmitted through a secure Box, AWS, or SFTP portal. Unused tissue and DNA samples must be returned to the government. The anticipated award is a firm-fixed-price contract for 960 plates, with performance from award through December 31, 2026.
