Description
The Town of Orono is soliciting sealed bids for an upgrade to the sludge dewatering and processing system at the Orono Pollution Control Facility. Base Bid work includes installation of a new sludge dewatering screw press, sludge screw conveyor, control panels, support structures and access platforms; modifications to sludge feed pumps with new motors, variable-frequency drives, and input line reactors; installation of a process-water duplex basket strainer; relocation of an existing flow meter; process piping, electrical work, painting, cleaning, demolition, mobilization, and related incidental work. Four alternates cover replacement of the existing sludge feed plunger pumps with duplex double-disc pumps, replacement of the sludge press flow meter and controller, replacement of the polymer system, and replacement of a process-water pump with associated piping, valves, and electrical modifications. Substantial completion is required within 240 consecutive calendar days and final completion within 270 calendar days after execution of the Notice to Proceed. The successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds at contract execution, and a 5% bid bond or equivalent certified check/bank draft is required with the bid.
