Description
The project replaces the existing Batjer Hall chiller and chiller pump with a new water-cooled chiller, including associated piping, valves, electrical work, controls integration, demolition, and related construction. The new chiller is specified as a 250-ton unit, and the work includes connecting it to the existing chilled-water system and integrating it with the existing building controls. The building and campus will remain occupied during construction. Bidders may also price four additive alternates: replacement of two chilled-water pumps and associated piping and valves; replacement of the condenser-water pump and associated components; demolition of designated chilled-water piping; and replacement of three pump variable-frequency drives. The estimated bid cost range is $530,000 to $775,000. The contract requires substantial completion within 168 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, followed by final completion within 30 calendar days after substantial completion.
