Description
Gunnison County seeks a consultant to advance the approximately 10% concept design for replacement of Whitewater Park Drop Structure #2 to 100% final, sealed construction documents. The scope includes project management; surveying and aerial data collection; site walks; geotechnical investigations and laboratory testing; hydraulic, structural, and scour analyses; riverbank stabilization; fish-passage improvements; environmental studies; cultural and biological resources work; floodplain and Clean Water Act permitting support; and preparation of drawings, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and bid-ready electronic files. Design development is required at the 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% levels. The project is limited to in-river features associated with Drop #2, riverbank tie-ins, downstream jetties/vanes, and restoration within the defined project limits; upland park improvements and construction-phase services are excluded. Proposals must include a technical approach, schedule, team qualifications and resumes, similar river-engineering project examples, detailed task-based fees, proposed subcontractors, assumptions or clarifications, and references for at least five Colorado municipal or utility clients. Final design is expected to take 10–12 months from notice to proceed, with work anticipated from November 2026 through October 2027.
