Description
Olmsted County is requesting engineering and design services for a design-bid-build project to replace an outdated, undersized 1985 Trane 400-ton absorption chiller serving campus buildings and the FMC, a correctional facility. The existing unit uses 60-pound steam reduced to 10 pounds, requires frequent repairs, has increasingly obsolete parts, and cannot meet peak seasonal cooling demand. The selected firm will provide the engineering and design scope, including evaluation of the existing system, development of the replacement approach, preparation of specifications and construction documents, and support for the County through bidding and implementation. Equipment procurement is not part of this solicitation and will occur through the subsequent bid-build phase.
