Description
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is soliciting sealed bids for harvesting wild native eelgrass (Vallisneria neotropicalis), transporting it, and planting it in Lake George and Lake Monroe to replace lost submerged aquatic vegetation and improve fish and wildlife habitat. The contractor must provide all plants, labor, boats, equipment, fuel, safety devices, and related services; install harvested plants within 48 hours; achieve a minimum production standard of 15,000 plants per workday; and document planting areas, locations, and quantities using spreadsheets and KML files. Work will occur during daylight hours, generally Monday through Friday, and may include planting inside Commission-constructed fenced enclosures.
