Description
The City of Yonkers is soliciting a contractor for bare-ground weed control across city lots, rights-of-way, building perimeters, fence lines, medians, park sidewalks, and other designated sites. The work includes pre-emergent and post-emergent chemical applications using soil sterilants and selective herbicides, with the contractor furnishing all supervision, labor, tools, equipment, chemical materials, water, and transportation. The bid schedule identifies approximately 2,010,000 square feet of city lots and 229,000 linear feet of rights-of-way, building perimeters, fence lines, medians, and sidewalks. The contractor must be registered as a New York State pesticide business and provide New York State Category 6a certified pesticide applicators within one-half hour of the project, including full-time on-site supervision for each crew applying chemicals at separate sites. Work must comply with applicable product labels, OSHA, ANSI, EPA, and other governmental requirements, including personal protective equipment, drift controls, application records, and restrictions on treatment when people are present. The contract term is 12 months, with two additional 12-month extensions available by mutual agreement. Addendum 1 extends the bid deadline to September 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time and requires bidders to acknowledge all addenda.
